The Government launched the English Enhancement Grant Scheme for Primary Schools in 2009 to provide a time-limited grant to primary schools for adopting school-based English enhancement measures.
Schools are encouraged to use the additional resources to build up their capacity for raising students’ English proficiency and to achieve sustainable effects after the completion of the Scheme. The actual amount of grant for each school would depend on individual schools' proposals and implementation strategies and the maximum is $500,000.
The Scheme is open to application in 2010, 2011 and 2012. Schools applying for the third round may submit their Application Forms and Implementation Plans on or before 13 January 2012.
The results of application will be released by May 2012.
